What is more special than personalizing your perfect piece of jewelry with a fingerprint?
This might be a memory of a deceased loved one, but a fingerprint in a ring can also be a symbol of a very beautiful moment in your life. For example, it is possible to put a fingerprint of your newborn child in a ring.
It will not surprise you that it can be a hard job to get a clear fingerprint of a little baby. Therefore, we give a brief explanation of good and bad examples of fingerprints below.
A fingerprint consists of fine, specific lines which are different for every human being. If you want to process a fingerprint into a ring, it is therefore important to deliver the fingerprint properly.
For best results, choose light glossy paper, such as photo paper. As a consequence, the ink is not smudged into the paper and the lines are more visible. Coat your finger with black/dark ink from a ink pad, you can easily press down the finger into the ink and then place it on the paper. The softer you place the finger on the photo paper, the sharper the fingerprint will be. Please note: press down without rolling the finger. When you press the finger firmly on the paper or roll it, the fingerprint becomes too dark and spotty. For our designer it becomes difficult to extract the sharp lines of the fingerprint.
This is an example of the difference between an useful and unusable fingerprint. Unfortunately, the left print is not good enough. The lines are a bit spotty and therefore not clear enough. The right print is perfect. When the lines are not clear or spotty, we do not get sharp lines when converting the fingerprint into our 3D drawing program. This will ensure that the print is not visible in the ring. The right print is, however, good. Here you can see that the lines are clearly displayed on the paper. As a result, the print also works well in our 3D drawing program.
"A perfect print on paper is a perfect print in a ring."
For only € 70, - we can put a fingerprint in your piece of jewelry. This price, however, depends on the design of the jewelry. On our website there are a few models that already have a fingerprint. The personal print is already included in the mentioned price.
If you would like to keep a memory alive by using a fingerprint of a deceased loved one, it's important that you think about this in time. This fingerprint should be taken at the funeral center and this only happens when requested specifically. Pay attention; the relatives must give permission for this.
