The ring shown above is called the Lidia. We call this type of ring a cluster ring. The center gemstone is surrounded by smaller sized stones. This platinum version is set with a 8x6 mm oval ruby center stone, embraced by smaller sapphire. What makes this vintage platinum cluster ring special is the setting of the smaller gems surrounding the center ruby, which are shaped like a beautiful flower. The surrounding cluster of stones frame the middle center stone in such a way to make it appear bigger. This type of engagement ring is also called a flower ring. It is very important that the smaller sapphire are positioned identically so there is no interference of light but perfect unity instead. Our skilled Goldsmiths get the job done. Each individual stone is carefully set by hand. During manufacturing, light fall is constantly monitored to make sure the special cluster effect is still visible. In the end you get the perfect engagement ring with a radiant ruby gemstone centerpiece.
