Using our first-of-its-kind in the world service, we can create the pave ring of your dreams. Customize our existing designs or create one of your own. You can even browse and filter by setting type to see all our pave ring designs, and then customize by your favorite metals and stones. Following our online design process, we use ancient goldsmith techniques to drill the tiny holes required in the band, inserting each stone individually and securing them with prongs. We don’t keep any stock in our dedicated onsite studio, so each piece really is created just for you. All our pavé rings can be made in all colors gold; yellow gold, white gold, rose gold and platinum.
What is pave diamond?
The word ‘pave’ comes from the French word for ‘pavé’ meaning paved. It’s a reference to the way that the diamonds are laid side-by-side, in uniform rows with no gaps, just like paving stones. They have been in use since the 1700s, but became more widespread in the 1900s.
Sometimes pave diamonds are laid in a single row, as an enhancement to a ring’s shoulders, whereas other styles comprise a fully pave band, completely made up of the tiny stones. As these diamonds are much smaller than the larger, central settings so common with rings, they can provide an affordable alternative, while retaining that classic sparkling brilliance.
Whether used as added decoration or the focus of the design, the purpose of pave diamonds is to add even more reflective power to the piece. They increase the brilliance by adding more random directions off which light can bounce. Pavé ring settings create a continuous, brilliant look.
Pavé diamond ring
